My most memorable experience as a Scholar

My most memorable experience thus far has been the opportunity to participate in research. As an engineer, I spend a lot of time performing calculations and working on problem-solving; however, I also love that I am able to work with people and that I am able to think creatively. In addition to helping collect data for research, I get to observe live sessions with clients at the psychology clinic. My brother has ADHD, so this is an area that I am very passionate about. The Provost Scholarship has afforded me all of these opportunities.

I would like to

I would like to help improve the lives of others. I would also like to travel and teach, so I plan to apply to the Peace Corps upon graduating from MSU.

Current research

Through the Department of Psychology, I am studying the non-genetic factors that predict ADHD risk in children. Currently, I am investigating the association between ADHD risk and socioeconomic status, particularly the amount of hours parents spend at work vs. with their children.
