Travel Grants
The Honors Undergraduate Research Program provides grants for students to travel to regional, national, and international meetings to present their research. These awards, limited to $750, are available throughout the year. The application procedure is as follows:
- Submit the online application.
- Have your faculty advisor submit a letter of recommendation to our office. This may be done in two ways:
- by email to knudson@honors.msstate.edu, or
- by campus mail to the Shackouls Honors College at mail stop 9737.
- These materials should be submitted by the 15th of the month. Applications received after that day will be considered in the next cycle. Please submit your application at least one month prior to travel.
Grants will be awarded based on the quality of the application and the importance of participation in the conference/event to the applicant’s long-term goals.
Awardees are expected to submit a brief summary of their conference experience to the HURP office within two weeks of their return. They are also expected to present their work at the MSU Undergraduate Research Symposium.
Eligibility: Applicants must be working on a research project with a faculty member at MSU, and have good standing in the Shackouls Honors College.
