Honors Student to Present at 2015 Posters on the Hill

We are proud to congratulate honors student Sally White for her recent acceptance to the 2015 Posters on the Hill event. Sponsored by the Council on Undergraduate Research, this program brings sixty students to Capitol Hill each year to present research from universities around the nation.

Sally White is a junior Microbiology major pursuing a minor in English. Her research project was selected from 500 applications from varying disciplines and will reflect her ongoing research with her mentor Dr. Janet Donaldson. White’s poster will examine the effects of bile salts and an acidic environment on Listeria monocytogenes, a dangerous bacterium that causes the food-borne disease listeriosis.

After the Posters on the Hill event in April, Sally White will continue to develop the scope of her research by presenting at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research at Eastern Washington University. She is also preparing an essay on her research for publication in the coming year.
