My most memorable experience as a Scholar

My most memorable experience has been attending the 2015 Presidential Scholar Spring Break Trip to Washington, D.C. The various memorable events from that trip include: touring the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol Building, attending the play "The Metromaniacs", having brunch at a Cuban restaurant, experiencing a White House lockdown, visiting exciting museums, and having a great time with my fellow Scholars.

I would like to

In an ideal world, I would like to be a movie producer and screenwriter. In a practical world, I would like to be an analyst for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security or another government agency or national laboratory.

Current research

I am currently involved in several research arenas: 1) Under the guidance of Dr. Hugh Medal in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, I am working on Operations Research projects that have homeland security applications; and 2) Under the guidance of Dr. Philip Poe in the Department of Communication, I am working on projects that analyze the media's impact on viewer perception and health attitudes.
